  酥饼是金华地方特产,始创于隋唐,距今已有一千多年的文化历史。传说,酥饼是一代名将程咬金所创,当年程咬金隐居金华,以烙饼为生。现在酥饼的品牌已经很多,但名声最大的还是“嫁女饼”。
  婚礼,无论在古今中外,都被认为是人生仪礼中的大礼。《三书六礼》是中国传统婚俗的基本,早在先秦时代已经定下。其中六礼当中[纳征]又称过大礼男家备礼金和多种礼物送到女家,作为订亲仪式。通常过礼应用的有礼饼、礼金、礼品等,数量均用偶数,即取成双成对之意。
  在广东地区结婚嫁娶最常见的嫁女饼叫绫酥。传统礼饼中“绫酥”与衣饰典故有关。昔日豪门嫁娶以礼饼的丰厚显示体面和气派,绫、罗、绸、缎乃贵族的四款华贵衣料,其中“绫”最名贵。故此,礼饼就以“绫酥”首选,寓意荣华。绫酥有黄、白、红、橙四色之分。四色绫酥的出现,代表了老百姓对新人新生活的寄托,也从另一角度看到了对老人的尊敬。
  莲香楼秉承这个百年的民间习俗,结合现代生产工艺,以小麦粉、高级油脂为原料,配以豆蓉、爽糖,莲蓉,冬蓉,豆沙作馅料。采用先进的自动机成型,用恒温电热炉烘烤而成。饼体呈圆形或椭圆形,饼皮层次分明薄而不碎。嫁女饼也成为大众婚礼时礼饼的首选。
